Daniel Arsham - Lunar Print
LUNAR PRINTS is a set of two silkscreened prints reproducing Daniel Arsham's 2012 Lunar paintings: Deep Wall and Square Out on the Moon. Each 18"" x 14"" print was created with 8 individual screens on archival Hahnemühle 300g 100% cotton paper. Produced in a limited edition of 300, LUNAR PRINTS come packaged in a custom Arsham Studio designed linen box. Each edition includes a pair of pristine Archive Editions gloves intended to be worn at all times when handling the artwork. Editions are hand-signed and numbered by the artist on the included COA card. In these works, the moon is altered to contain rectilinear excavations. The day moons depicted are only visible when the moon is bright enough and high enough in the sky. These works also reference the 2016 Blue Moon paintings first made after Arsham's introduction to special lenses for correcting his colorblindness. It is hardest for the colorblind to see colors in shadow, and with these particular works Arsham had special blue paint produced with 5 times the amount of pigment used in normal paint. This rare print edition is a representation of the embedded history of these visually iconic surfaces in conversation with the fictional narrative of Arsham’s “Future Relic’s series. Through his ongoing exploration of suspended time, the LUNAR PRINTS further perpetuate a reconsideration of space, materiality, and realism. Ships within 3-4 weeks.
